It’s official: Dollyfest is coming in 2027. It will be a two-weekend celebration of the life and legacy of Dolly Parton, and a festive fulfillment of Dolly’s last wish.
The news dropped two days after Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chains music festival was held in Irvine, California. The all-female lineup included icons like Chappell Roan, Doechii, and Stevie Nicks, and 100% of the proceeds were donated to nonprofits supporting women and girls (see the list of charities at the end).
“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” — Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton paved the way for young artists, like Rodrigo, to unapologetically stand for something. She will go down in history not as a musical sensation, but as a legend who never wavered in who she was or what she believed in. Rodrigo is following in her footsteps as she builds her own legacy. Starting with raising $20 million at Daisy Chains, it’s clear Rodrigo’s career is rooted in her beliefs.
"Vulnerability equates to strength" — Olivia Rodrigo
The best brand-builders are female artists like Rodrigo and Parton. These women understand what it means to fiercely live your truth. As two female strategists breaking a male-dominated industry, there are several mantras we carry into our work, inspired by both Dolly and Rodrigo:
Meagan’s Mantras:
- You can do hard things.
- Directness is not rude, it’s respect.
- Have trust in the process.
- Assume positive intent.
Sami’s Mantras:
- Some people just won’t like you.
- Don’t dilute your personality.
- Push people outside their comfort zone.
- Women are beautiful.
