In a brick building off of Jefferson St in Richmond, Virginia is where you can find some of advertising’s top creative minds honing, molding, and nurturing their craft - day in and day out.
You would never know it, but off two cups of 7/11 coffees, and a diet consisting only of vending machine pretzels, Brandcenter students are pushing the boundaries of what they're creatively capable of. While each concentration at VCU Brandcenter is responsible for different parts of the creative process, there is one thing for sure: strategists own culture.
We work as translators, we dig into the work that no one else will, to understand who, what, and why this is important. Sometimes that can mean talking about a beer ad for the World Cup. Or a reality TV star’s partnership with a brand. Or even, a baby monkey from Japan.
Ultimately, Culture Lab is our love letter to all things pop culture, strategy, and the cosmic of other things that make us love this job. Because if there was ever a place to do it, it would be here, at VCU Brandcenter.
